NEW ADVENTURES IN 2008
WITH NICHOLS EXPEDITIONS

BHUTAN CULTURAL TOUR & 6 DAY TREK:
October 28 - November 9 , 2008

Bhutan is a trekker’s paradise! Bhutan's peaceful folk Bhutan Monasteryand tradition-steeped way of life combined with its pristine forests and picturesque valleys makes this one of the Earth's most unspoiled destinations for trekking. The first part of our tour will be an immersion into Bhutan’s history, culture and lifestyle. Accompanied by a English speaking knowledgeable guide, we will do several day hikes and visit a number of Bhutan’s most important sights. Then we begin a 6-day camping trek on the spectacular Druk Path. This moderately strenuous trek is supported by pack animals and takes us through thick alpine forests and groves of dwarf rhododendrons to some amazing views of the Himalayan peaks. Our Bhutan Tour is the perfect blend of cultural visits and mountain trekking, and Chuck and Judy Nichols will accompany the tour. We hope you will join us on this exciting NEW TOUR!

AFRICA WILDLIFE SAFARI - THE BEST OF UGANDA & RWANDA:
Tracking Gorillas & Chimps in the "Pearl of Africa" August 3 - 15, 2008

This exclusive African wildlife safari is designed for a small group of adventurers who enjoy hiking, watching wildlife, meeting local people and photography. Uganda gorillaUganda, where the East African savannah meets the West African jungle, is the "Pearl of Africa". Its incomparable natural beauty encompasses a host of different ecosystems, and the variety of animals is staggering! Rwanda is “the land of a thousand hills” and home to half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas. This tiny country is filled with beauty, unsurpassed biodiversity, and is embracing a bright new future apart from its troubled past.

We have selected five different locations to observe wildlife on foot, by boat and on game drives in safari vehicles. On each excursion, we will be accompanied by experienced guides and trackers when we look for the primates. Our lodging will be in small exclusive tent camps and lodges that offer true African hospitality, fabulous food and all the comforts of home. We are confident the destinations we have selected for this safari will offer a fantastic assortment of wildlife and the best chance to see some of more rare species found in this special region of Africa. Chuck and Judy Nichols will accompany this tour, so grab your camera, be ready for surprises, and let’s go to Africa!
