FOR YOUR INFORMATION

Chuck and Judy NicholsFor the past 31 years we have offered a unique blend of active adventures by bike, foot, raft and sea kayak in the United States and throughout the World. A love for adventure, combined with a desire to share traveling with friends, was the original impetus for starting our adventure travel company - and it remains the same today. Since 1978 thousands of folks have joined Nichols Expeditions on exciting tours ranging from Alaska's Arctic Circle to the Inca Trail of Peru. Simply put, we love what we do and feel there is no greater reward than the number of people who return year after year to try a new adventure or repeat a favorite trip. We look forward to seeing you on your next great adventure.

Suzie with her husband, TomMeet Suzie Stengel, our office manager at Nichols Expeditions. A 22-year resident of Moab and 5-year veteran with the Park Service at Arches National Park, Suzie brings a wealth of experience and a genuine love for travel to our office. Besides climbing all of the 14,000 ft. peaks in Colorado, Suzie has traveled extensively in Africa, Europe, Asia, and crossed Russia on a solo journey. Her advice to all is, “keep active, and if you are curious or have ever dreamed of going somewhere, you should do it!”

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT: It's the personal interaction between our staff and the folks who come on our trips that makes Nichols Expeditions different. From your first contact with our office, you'll sense something special here. We take the time to listen to your needs and help you with all the details of your trip. Once on the trip, you'll be prepared for your adventure and be a welcomed member of our traveling community. With Nichols Expeditions you truly will come as a guest and leave as a friend.

Jerry Block from California commented on a Needles bike trip, "I feel as though you folks have taken me into your family. I've gone on expeditions all over the world, but I've never felt so included!"

STYLE: Our tours have a playful expedition spirit and you can become as involved as you would like. Feel free to kick back and relax, or to lend a hand in the kitchen testing the Dutch oven brownies - there's always something fun going on.

Marilyn Harris from New Jersey, a participant on a Baja Sea Kayak trip wrote, "The fact that we can participate in all levels of the trip is what makes it come alive for me. I am a beginner and can go at my own pace and still not be separated from the experts."

OUR GUIDES: Top-notch guides are the cornerstones of our tours. We personally select guides who are excellent teachers, coaches and listeners. Our guides are trained in first aid, natural history and the safe operation of all the equipment on a Nichols Expeditions trip.

Barbara Brown Allen, who chartered a raft trip in Alaska for a group of friends, writes, "Many of us did things we didn't know we could do! But, with the gentle, personal instruction of the Nichols' guides we felt we could do anything!"

MEALS: On our camping tours the food is delicious and prepared fresh during each trip. Many have asked us to publish a cookbook! We serve plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, whole-grains and scrumptious desserts. On our trips using hotels, the food is incredible! The meals are gourmet and there is enough variety at each meal to please everyone. Vegetarian and other dietary restrictions can easily be accommodated with advance notice on both the camping and hotel based tours.

ABILITY LEVELS: We have tours for all skill and fitness levels, and each trip is rated as to its difficulty. Our staff will be happy to answer any questions and help you choose the right trip.

GROUP CHARTERS: All of our trips are available as charters and are perfect for family reunions, educational seminars or groups of friends who enjoy vacationing together. We can also create a custom tour to better suit your needs.

ADDITIONAL TRIPS AND DATES: To accommodate demand, extra tours are added to our schedule. Contact us if the date you want is not shown on our schedule.

RENTAL EQUIPMENT: You will receive a Trip Packing List of the equipment you will need for your trip. The availability and price of rental gear will be addressed on this document.
