Since 1978 Nichols Expeditions has chosen to remain a small, adventure tour company dedicated to providing top quality personal service. We offer a wide variety of active adventures in some of the most beautiful places on earth. Our tours are fun, educational and designed to satisfy a wide range of abilities and interests. Group Charters may be arranged for just about any size group between 2 - 25.

Each year Group Charters make up about 1/3 of our tours. We have arranged Group Charters for family reunions, landmark birthdays and anniversaries, team training camps for the U.S. Women's Ski Team, employee incentive trips, continuing medical education conferences, educational organizations like the Alexander Dawson School, the Colorado Academy and the Esalen Institute, and other tour organizers like REI Adventures and Adventure Plus who were looking to expand their offerings with an experienced outfitter.

Setting up a Group Charter is easy. First, we will assist you in finding the right trip and then work out the dates and amenities that will be perfect for your group. Any of our scheduled tours (biking, sea kayaking, rafting and hiking) can be chartered, or we can create a specific itinerary for the event. We will assist you with logistics, equipment lists, rental information and trip itineraries.

On all international trips there will be bilingual English speaking local guides and each trip will have complete local support. Chuck and Judy Nichols offer trips in these locations on their regular trip schedule, and they can also arrange special charters for your group.

ALASKA SEA KAYAKING, HIKING & RAFTING TOURS: Our sea kayak tours in Kenai Fjords may be chartered for groups of 8 - 10 people and our sea kayak tour in the Kodiak Archepelago may be chartered for a group of 6. Our Brooks Range Hiking and Rafting Tour may be chartered for a group of 6 - 8 people. We can customize tours from 5 - 12 days. Alaska tour costs are approximately $250/day and will vary depending upon transportation costs. Trips may be chartered in June - mid August.

PERU HIKING & BIKING TOURS: We can customize an itinerary that includes camping or hotel based tours for groups of 2 - 15 people for any number of days you desire. We can offer itineraries that include any of the following: the Inca Trail, Cuzco, Machu Picchu, the Amazon jungle, Lake Titicaca, Nazca Lines and Lima. Trip costs range between $125 - $200/day depending on the size of the group, amenities and transportation included. Tours are offered year around except for the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu which is only available April - December.

ECUADOR AND GALAPAGOS ISLANDS WILDLIFE TOURS: We can charter boats for wildlife tours in the Galapagos Islands for groups of 6 - 36 people for 4, 5 or 7 nights. The trip prices range from $500 - $2,500/pp depending on the number of nights and the boat. (This does not include airfare from Quito to the Galapagos - approx. $395 and National Park fees - $100). We can also make arrangements for individuals who want to book a trip to the Galapagos. Tours are offered year around. We can customize itineraries to include tours in the Andes and Amazon regions of Ecuador for any size group.

ITALY BIKING AND WALKING TOURS AND VILLA RENTALS: We can customize biking and walking tours and villa rentals in the following regions of Italy - Tuscany, Umbria, Veneto, Sicily and Sardinia. We can accommodate groups of 2 or more on unguided tours (your luggage is transferred each day and you are provided with maps, routes and lodging arrangements) for any number of days. We can provide guides and vehicle support for groups of 8 or more. Prices are approximately $200/day/pp. Bike rental costs are additional. Tours may be arranged March - November and you can choose the number of days for your tour. We have sample 8 day itineraries for biking and hiking tours in Tuscany and Umbria.

COSTA RICA TOURS: We can customize adventures in Costa Rica for any size group. Tour selections include hiking, kayaking and snorkeling from a Wilderness Lodge near Corcovado National Park in southwest Costa Rica, whitewater rafting on the Pacuare River, tours to Montverde, Arenal and the beaches in northwest Costa Rica. We can accomodate individuals and any size group and you can choose the length of trip. Tours range from $130 - $175/day depending on the tour locations and transportation included and can be arranged year around.

BAJA SEA KAYAKING AND WHALE WATCHING TOURS AND BAJA AND COPPER CANYON MOUNTAIN BIKING TOURS: Sea Kayaking, Whale Watching and Mountain Biking Tours may be chartered in Baja for groups of 8 or more. Average tour costs are $140/day/pp and tours may be arranged October - May.

Also, if you are not sure that you can fill an entire trip, but are interested in bringing a few friends, please let us know and we will be more than happy to work with you. With 4 people on a domestic tour, each person receives a 10% discount on their tour.
